What are Medical Imaging Services and types of Medical Imaging?

Medical Imaging Services

Medical imaging services generate pictures of the human body using various imaging methods. These photos can be used by clinicians to diagnose and treat patients.

Types:

Medical imaging equipment includes X-ray machines, computed tomography (CT) scanners, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) devices.

X-Rays: X-rays are the oldest and most common type of medical imaging. X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation. When X-rays pass through the body, they are absorbed in different amounts by different tissues. This difference in absorption creates an image of the inside of the body. X-rays are generally used to image bones and organs that contain calcium, such as the lungs.

CT Scanners: CT scanners take many X-rays of the body from different angles and create a 3-dimensional image of the inside of the body. CT scans are used to image the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. They are also used to image the brain and spine.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging): MRI machines use magnetic fields and radio waves to create images of the inside of the body. MRI scans are used to image the brain and spine. They can also be used to image the joints, muscles, and tendons.

Conclusion:

These medical imaging services are very useful to examine the patient for better and proper care. The main thing is to notice that these kinds of facilities or checkups can only be done by professionals, it's a matter of life. Be aware!
